Resistance welding in orthodontics
Our current dental model PUK D6 (as well as our earlier series from PUK D2 to PUK D5) offers a special function for resistance welding, which we also call the fixation welding function, in addition to the option of using classic TIG welding with micro-pulses to join the components.
This allows components, ideally with low electrical conductivity such as CoCr or stainless steel alloys, to be easily fixed together by resistance welding before they are finally welded with the TIG welding function.
This additional function can be very helpful, especially with delicate constructions and confined spaces.
The function can only be triggered using the foot switch.
This guarantees a safe process and prevents accidental welding of components.
With the current PUK D6 model, our optional fixation welding set (art. no. 100 845), consisting of the foot switch and an additional contact clamp, is required for this technology.
You can see two possible applications here:
- Fixation welding I: Stop tube on molar band
- Fixation welding II: Bracket on molar band
